Those visiting Myrtle Beach are always looking for things to do during their stay. Here is a local’s take on what to do to make your stay an enjoyable one!
Myrtle Beach’s newest and most high end place to shop has been a survivor of the economic downturn time and time again. Must be a reason the stores such as Victoria’s Secret, Barnes & Noble, Pottery Barn, White House Black Market, and more have chosen to hang their hats here. A lore of restaurants ranging from burger and fries to fine dining line the streets to fill your nose with the scents of pure decadence. Professional offices, a community theatre, local artists gallery, and yoga studios also call Market Common home. What a great place to spend the day even if you just want to enjoy a summer breeze or the year round events from St. Patrick’s Day events, to Summer live music, to horse carriage rides near Christmas!
Tanger Outlet Centers
With two convenient locations in the Myrtle Beach area, how could you possibly go wrong? This is where you will find the best of the best when it comes to name brand. Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Izod, Express, Nike, and Coach, just to name a few. Both truly an outdoor experience, they feature and are close to great dining options to soothe that lunch or dinner craving you may have after a long day on your feet.
Big M Casino Boat
If you want something fun to do while feeling a little Vegas with a lot of Atlantic Ocean, try your hand here! Known as South Carolina’s most luxurious gaming yacht, this voyage includes slots, Let-It-Ride, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, 3 Card Poker, and Texas Hold ‘Em. Just like Vegas, the Big M also features one of the best buffets around.
This historically local property was once owned by the Huntingtons, a couple with great artistic ability and even greater hearts. A sculpture garden and wildlife preserve, these hundreds of acres have been immaculately landscaped with only the best pieces of sculpture brought in for display. Spend your time on the Avenue of Oaks with twisted Live Oak trees draped with Spanish moss whose story goes back hundreds of years. Walk through the zoo with animals featured that you can find right here in our very own low country. Treat your palate to some of the best light or medium fare that you can find for any day trip.
Huntington Beach State Park
The summer home of the Huntingtons, this is one of the most sought after camping and nature destinations in our area. Acres upon acres of land fill your eyes with amazing scenery, from marsh and water habitats to the forests or sandy beaches of the coastline. Also visit Atalaya, the summer home of the couple with a Spanish Courtyard style of architecture that was once the home of multiple servant’s quarters, big wide open windows, and a courtyard that appears to come from a fairy tale.
